Why in the year 12 months?
Why 12 months in the year: earlier some people were guided by crops, others by the sun, the third by the moon, the fourth by the water in the rivers. Now there is a single calendar count on the whole planet.
- According to one version, the number 12 arose from the lunar cycles, so many times in a year the moon changes - 12 cycles from one new moon to another, so time was calculated for example in the eastern countries.
- According to another version, the number 12 appeared fromastrology, astrologers divide the sky into 12 sectors, the sun is in each of them for 12 months a year, respectively. The sector in which the sun is located this month is an astrological sign, a man born in this period.
- The third version is also based on the sun, but in itpeople took part. Caesar, after consulting with astrologers, appointed a calendar in which there were 365 days and 12 months. It was intended for economic purposes.
- The fourth version says that the number 12 was the most important among the ancient Greeks, it was divided into circles, clocks, weight measures, day, night and year.
A modern calendar in which the year is divided into12 months is logical and convenient. It is based on the change of seasons, which is caused by the passage of the earth along the solar orbit, and allows us to navigate, make weather forecasts and plan our activities.
