Which electric generator to choose: diesel or gasoline?
With frequent blackouts, it is logical to use autonomous current generators, which are found on sale not only in the classic gasoline version, but also in diesel. It is worth buying one of the above-mentioned generators, to start the internal combustion engine, as it immediately begins to produce cheap electricity in large quantities.
In terms of cost, gasoline generators of a single-phase type benefit, most often equipped with two-stroke internal combustion engines, which do not need an excessively complex and expensive lubrication system and liquid cooling. It uses a special fuel in the form of a mixture of gasoline and synthetics, which is consumed quite economically - one tank lasts for several hours! And this is at high engine speeds, which rotates for at least 3200 rpm! As a result, the internal combustion engine practically does not lose power, if a lot of household appliances will be connected to the electrical outlet of the generator at a time.
Gasoline electric generators with two-stroke internal combustion engines are most often infused with a soft cord connected to the magneto. It is worth pulling the cord itself, as a two-stroke engine instantly start up at any temperature. Especially at low! Models of a more expensive price range are often equipped with a starter and battery. The latter scheme is somewhat complex, but unusually easy to use - it is worth pressing the start button, as the engine immediately starts and goes to high speed.
Diesel boilers have other advantages - high power, durability and extremely low fuel consumption. The power of diesel generators often varies in the range of 5-100 kW; increased service life (gasoline engines have a resource of no more than 5,000 hours), and fuel consumption really turns out to be benign - on average, only one liter of diesel is burned per 10 kW of power. But for this you have to pay a lot - diesel generators are several orders of magnitude more expensive than gasoline counterparts.
Therefore, diesel fuel generators are recommended to buy for those cases when you need to power industrial or household appliances for a long time. And due to the high fuel consumption of such a generator, produced not only in single-phase form, but also in three-phase, pays off quickly.
