In 2015, the capital is scheduled to complete the overhaul of the October tunnel under Kaluzhskaya SquareNovember 19, 2017
The overhaul of the Oktyabrsky transport tunnel, which passes in the central part of Moscow near Kaluzhskaya Square, should be completed in 2015, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said during the inspection of the working platform.
The tunnel is located at the intersection of the Garden Ring with Yakimanka Street and Leninsky Avenue. It was built in 1961, and its purpose is to provide 3-lane traffic to each side. As a result of the increased workload indicator, a very significant wear of its main structural elements is carried out.Based on the fact that in the autumn time in the tunnel was limited to the movement of road transport, traffic jams were formed.
“Currently we have visited one of the most problematic objects, which is called the October field. This year, construction has begun here, which, we would hope, will end on the onset of 2015, ”explained Sobyanin. In the process of performing such construction work, crane scales are often used to weigh building materials and reinforced concrete structures.
According to the press service of the metropolitan government and the mayor, works are currently being carried out on dismantling beams and repairing reinforced concrete floor walls. The overhaul will provide an undeniable opportunity to safely operate the tunnel for four to five decades. Based on the reconstruction project, the floor slabs and waterproofing should be completely replaced. Reinforced concrete structures and sidewalks were repaired.
