How to grow Peking cabbage?
Peking cabbage or peccay is an excellent sourcenutrients and vitamins. Very few household plot now does without "peking". This vegetable is new for us, so not every vegetable marketer knows how to grow Peking cabbage to get a good harvest from it.
It is used to produce an early harvest. Seeds are planted in very loose soil and must be placed in pots. The best period for planting seeds with seedlings is at the beginning of April. In order for cabbage to form head, use seedlings grown for 30 days. Each plant by this time should be able to at least 4-5 leaves. In early May, the seedlings are ready for planting in the soil.

As you can see, the planting of Peking cabbage is not soa complex and time-consuming process as it might seem at first. In a month you can pamper yourself and your loved ones with juicy, and above all an unusually useful salad from a peking.
Peking cabbage requires a careful regularirrigation especially from the moment of tying the head to its full formation. A daily drip irrigation is excellent for this vegetable. Insufficient amount of moisture prevents the knotting of the head and leads to a loss of yield.
Note: if you want to get a better harvest, cabbage is better covered with agrofiber, which will ensure the best microclimate in the growth zone.
The site for Peking cabbage should be prepared in advance from autumn, introducing liming substances into the earth. In the spring, only organic fertilizers are used.
During the vegetation period it is recommended to weed regularly and weed the soil by 1-2 feeding.
- The first is done 1.5 to 2 weeks after planting the seedlings. For it, use 1.5 liters of mullein for 10 liters of water.
- The second feeding is performed a couple of days after thinning. For each plant consumed by a liter of solution Mullein with water.
It is worth repeating the feeding if there was a prolonged rain during the growth period. After each feeding the plants are hilled, and the soil is loosened up.
The first harvest of spring cabbage can begin to be collected already on the 25th day after disembarkation. In fresh form it is practically not stored, therefore early crops are almost immediately consumed as food.
If the vegetable was planted in early summer - collectionThe harvest will have to be carried out no earlier than in September, and even in October. Cabbage planted in summer has a large mass and a clearly formed tight head.
It is best to harvest the harvest of Peking cabbage in the morning hours by rewinding the heads with food film. This will prevent loss of moisture and protect the fruit.
