Antique wooden shelf do it yourselfMay 28, 2009
I saw with my grandmother a massive wooden shelf and decided to make myself the same with my own hands, but I didn’t want to use as much wood, so I invented such an embodiment as shown in the figure. The shelf looks heavy, but in reality it is hollow. It is assembled from three boards in the shape of the letter “U”, and on the sides is closed to impart massiveness. It is supported by two solid, but also hollow consoles attached by hidden fittings. I planted the shelf on a board screwed to a wall and screwed to it with screws from above, so that the caps were invisible.
A hollow wooden shelf looks massive because it is closed on the sides.
